Hair Care Guide

Muloni Hair Supply

Remy hair extensions should be treated with the same care and attention as you would treat your own natural hair. Following simple tips and measures will ensure that the smoothness and luster is maintained over the lifespan of your hair extensions.

Care Guide for Remy Hair Extensions

Keep your Hair Extensions Clean

Do remember that your hair extensions do not receive any natural oils from the scalp. Pamper them enough with a deep conditioning treatment or use a treatment such as Moroccan oil. Shampooing everyday will dry out the luster. So, it is best to shampoo every 4-5 days to maintain hygiene and keep them odor-free. Using a good moisture balancing shampoo and conditioner can work wonders!

Changing your hair products

Remy hair extensions can sustain most hair products that you may use on natural hair. However, to maximize their life, you may opt for alcohol-free and sulfur-free products and products that have condition properties.

Styling your hair

Through natural hair extensions are the only ones which can sustain heat from blow dryers and straighteners, it is best to use them only when absolutely necessary. Air-drying will ensure that cuticles are kept intact, without any damage. Using the lowest setting when using any heat-styling appliance is recommended.

Brushing

Use a wide-tooth comb or a loop brush and gently work your way up from the ends to the crown to avoid breakage. You can detangle the knots with your fingers prior to brushing.

Coloring your hair extensions

Remy hair extensions can be colored but it is best to get it done professionally. Choosing a darker shade will not do harm, but lightening may damage the hair extensions.

Swimming

The chlorine in pool water and salt in the ocean can lower the lifespan of your extensions. If you have clip-in extensions, it is best to remove them before a swim. If you can’t remove them, make sure you wash them with cold water to avoid weakening the cuticle.

Storing your clip-in hair extensions

Storing your clip-in and weft/bundle hair extensions properly will ensure that they last longer! Make sure that you gently remove all the tangles before storing them in a proper box. Do not store the wet extensions in the box as this will build up a bad odor. Air-dry them well before storing.

These hair care tips are simple and fuss-free. So enjoy your new hair and flaunt your tresses confidently!
